Fall Beginning Belly Dance ClassesThe new class schedule is up for Fall 2009 classes at Ninth Street Dance. The times have changed, although the days of the week remain the same. For those who are currently enrolled in my class, I suggest that you take the beginning level class at least one more time before moving to the advanced beginning class (taught by Leigh Brown). Ninth Street Dance Thursdays, 5:30 - 6:30p Sundays, 3:30 - 4:30p Learn traditional Middle Eastern dance movements that have been passed down for generations in this entry-level class. Beginning belly dance is about learning how to connect with your body and spirit. Suitable for all shapes, sizes and activity levels, but you will get a work out! This class will focus on improving flexibility, conditioning the body in order to do the movements properly, and building stamina. You will learn basic belly dance techniques that focus on the core aspects of the dance. Wear comfortable clothes. Pants or shorts are preferred as we may stretch on the floor. Bring water. Dance shoes and hip scarves are optional. If you need help paying for classes during this tough economic time, you may apply for a scholarship. The scholarship will pay for one session of classes or a workshop. Please download the form and check it out! If there's a will, there's a way!
