Choosing your first pair of finger cymbals (zills)

Posted on Sep 5, 2014

My continuing belly dance students are currently learning a fun choreography with finger cymbals. For many of the students in the class, this is the first time that they have ever tried finger cymbals. Finger cymbals are really hard to play because they are musical instruments that you wear and play–all while belly dancing!

I started putting together materials for the class and I thought a quick video would be helpful. Then I decided it may be helpful to lots of other students out there so I made it a little more polished and posted a complete article on my Carolina Belly Dance website. Check out the complete article here and/or watch the video below. Let me know if you have any questions or comments!

(Note: since posting this video, I have been informed that the Afghani cymbals in brass are the same as the Fat Chance Belly Dance® branded ones featured in the video.)
